This election, as my brilliant friend David Moscrop wrote on Twitter Thursday night, should have been an email. I devoted my entire Citizen column this week just to agree with that. And also to make — again — the point that it’s past time to rejig our constitutional order.
It was a stupid election and we’ve got results to match. Voter turnout was near historic low. That’s not because voters are morons or lazy. It’s because they realize the exercise is pointless.
I will shake off my grumpiness because there is work to do. But man. We can — and should — do better than this.
