It is rare that I am ahead of the style curve like this but I have been finding ways to compliment at least one person a day for years. Some days it’s easier than others. Like it helps if I go outside at all. On writing days, it’s harder.

Anyway, this New York Times article hit the spot with me, so much that I wrote an entire column about the benefits of sprinkling joy and positivity more or less at random.

I have found that it takes very little to put a bright smile on someone’s face. And that smile in turn brings a little bit more light into my heart.

Bref, la roue tourne dans le bon sens, et envoye le cercle vertueux.

Try it. I give a few pointers in the column about how to avoid coming across as awkward, because as much as I enjoy people falling in love in the most unusual ways, this isn’t about flirting. It’s about sprinkling happiness, which is even better than romance.

By way of programming note: While I am trying to enjoy some down time over the next two weeks I’ll be writing a bunch, some of which will find its way into your inbox. See y’all later.
